Pet Photography Melbourne

At the Melbourne Portrait Studio, we understand that pets are much more than just animals. Our pets bring us so much joy and companionship; they are a loved member of the family.

We specialise in capturing the bond between pets and their owners through natural, fun and candid pet photography. We take the time to meet with you and get to know you and your fur baby, to learn about your personalities, and the beautiful relationship that you share. We want to know what you love most about your furry family member – is it the way they always seem to feel how you feel? Give you affection when you need it? Their uncontrolled excitement when you come home? Their wilful and stubborn personality?

The Ultimate Pet Photography Experience

As we get to know you both, we will be able to personalise your photoshoot to ensure that we capture the true essence of your fur baby, and your relationship. Our portraits will tell the story of your unconditional love and devotion for each other.

We provide pet lovers with the ultimate pet photography experience here at The Melbourne Portrait Studio. We offer a range of options to suit your needs and preferences. You can choose an individual portrait experience exclusively for your gorgeous pet; these portraits look amazing when displayed as wall art around your home. Alternatively, we also offer portrait experiences of you with your furry friend, or with the whole family. The choice is yours!

Our pet portraits aren’t limited to cats and dogs – we’ve also photographed snakes, lizards, and tree frogs! All well behaved pets are welcome to be celebrated and captured in stunning portraits that will be with you forever.

Trying to get a four-year-old girl and a six-month-old puppy to sit still is near impossible. Yet Jude retained her sense of humour, stayed nimble on her feet, and gave as much time needed to capture the bond between my mischievous daughter and her equally naughty Samoyed.

You can never repeat the past, and kids and dogs grow so quickly, so I am grateful when I look at Jude’s portraits of Yasmine and Pasha that we’ve preserved this time in their lives.

Jude’s Pets

Our fur-babies are family! I have 2 cats, Indy and Dex.
Displayed on this artwork is my eldest son and Dex. Last year we were very unfortunate to lose Dex’ brother at 8 months old and shortly after that Dex got bitten by a tiger snake and spent 9 extremely stressful days at Lort Smith Hospital. Luckily he survived, however it also shows how important it is to imortilise your fur babies because you never know what’s around the corner.

I’ve always loved animals, which is behind my choice to be vegetarian for the last 25 years, and now recently vegan.
My ideal future would involve me living somewhere secluded, surrounded by animals.

There is a bond like no other between an animal and the humans they chose to share their life with!

I would love to capture that bond between you and your fur baby and create beautiful artwork to enjoy for many years to come.

Together Apart: Life in Self-Isolation

NEW BOOK:
Together Apart,
Life in Lockdown

When COVID-19 hit Melbourne harder than a runaway tram, our lives changed – literally overnight. Together Apart gives a rare glimpse into life in lockdown, beautifully capturing the isolation, frustration, hope, humour and human need for togetherness that quickly became part of our daily lives.

What started as a conversation over the back fence to break the solitude of lockdown has grown into a friendship and a partnership between me and my next-door neighbour, travel writer and journalist Belinda Jackson.

Photographed, written and printed in Melbourne, Together Apart is our black-and-white coffee table book featuring 60 portraits of people in our neighbourhood.

To get a hold of your copy, visit our book’s website.

If you’re from the media, please get in touch for extracts, press releases or images. Jude and I are also available for interview.
